The Launch of "Phygital" Art Tech Platform Zien

Agnieszka Kurant x Zien, Sentimentite, Chapter 8: Decentralising Forces.

Guest Work Agency has provided advice to art tech platform Zien on stakeholder mapping and how to transform complex legal and regulatory documents into accessible, user-friendly tools.

Digital art with material presence

Zien uses WhatsApp to ‘drop’ its Expanded NFTs. Purchased as 1/1 NFTs (i.e. NFTs that have been issued as single, unique editions) collectors have the option to redeem their purchase for a unique physical counterpart. As described on the Zien website, “this new dual-state medium reflects our multidimensional lives”.

The new “phygital” world

Guest Work Agency Director Alana Kushnir congratulated Zien on its launch: “We are so excited to have worked with Zien on an NFT offering that bridges the digital and the physical. Zien’s ethos reflects on our increasingly ‘phygital' lives and the many ways in which we experience and interact with art.”

How Zien works

Subscribers to the Zien channel on WhatsApp can discover, mint and redeem Expanded NFTs, which are redeemable for counterpart physical artworks. Each season consists of three solo drops, with subscribers receiving drop links in WhatsApp when mint windows open.
