Guest Work Agency (GWA) is a boutique art law and advisory firm based in Melbourne, Australia but international reach. 2024 marks an important year for GWA as we’ll be celebrating our 10 year birthday.

We provide legal and strategic advice, produce art and exhibition projects, and speak on art, tech and law. About the Position

We are looking for a part-time paralegal to assist our small team. The role is 2 days per week. Mondays are a must, and the successful applicant will be able to set the second day of their choice. The role is remote, but we love to catch up in person for occasional meetings and events.

Prerequisites

  • At least 2 years full-time equivalent of a Bachelor of Laws or JD at an Australian law school (required)

  • Minimum average of 70% in law subjects (required)

  • Completed intellectual property subjects (strongly preferred)

  • Prior arts-related studies or work experience (strongly preferred)

Interviews will be held in-person on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th January.

Role Start Date will be Monday 5th February.

Position Responsibilities

Legal

  • Attending and note keeping at client interviews and meetings

  • Drafting internal and external correspondence

  • Drafting documents

  • Reviewing, analysing and proof-reading documents

  • Conducting legal research

  • Drafting memo of findings

  • Management of legal document templates

  • Building automated contract bots

Marketing

  • Researching, writing and uploading content to social media accounts and website stories

  • Managing website updates

  • Conducting image use requests

  • Conducting user interaction for social media accounts

  • Managing client alerts and updates

  • Researching and writing regular art case updates

  • Preparing quarterly newsletter campaigns

Administration

  • Weekly progress meetings with Director, or as otherwise requested by the Director

  • Attending events for business development purposes

  • Preparing slide presentations and accompanying notes

  • Updating internal policies and onboarding/offboarding documentation

Other responsibilities and tasks relating to Guest Work Agency as instructed by the Director.
